A few weeks ago I was asked to go to a Pizza Hut restaurant to review their gluten-free pizza offering.
Given my low FODMAP diet and Roo’s coeliac disease and intolerance to dairy, I was a little wary about going, but after checking out the ingredients of the pizza we decided to take them up on their offer.
For those of you who are interested the base and sauce ingredients are as follows:
So the base is free from dairy and eggs (although may contain it) as well as being gluten-free. However, it is not low FODMAP because there is onion and garlic powder in the sauce and some untested ingredients in the base. Having said that I seemed to be fine after eating it so I can conclude from that that garlic and onion do not seem to give me any problems! Hurrah!
Anyway, I won’t give it all away in writing since I did a video review to share our experience! You can check it out below…but if you really don’t want to then all you really need to know is that Pizza Hut got a big thumbs up from us and there were no repercussions afterwards for anyone!
For the purposes of providing this review Pizza Hut gave us a gift voucher to use at a restaurant of our choice. I did not let them know in advance that we would be eating there and it did not affect my opinion of the restaurant in any way. All words and opinions are my own…and always will be!
