To be honest I have been completely rubbish lately! There are so many blog posts going around my head and none of them are getting any further. Having attended the Allergy and Freefrom Show in London at the weekend I have loads of things to be excited about but don’t seem to be finding the time to tell you about them. Anyway, if you click on the links to the blogs that I like you will find numerous round-ups of the best things at the show!
For us it meant a day off (thanks big sis for having the kids!), lots of things to taste and many bags of goodies to bring home for our big fuss pot! Next year we will be taking her with us because she will love it! So many sweet treats to try…and most that will be safe for her to eat. She won’t be able to contain herself! As for me, it was a test of my will-power as I am trying not to eat sugar! It was tough!
Anyway, the main purpose of this post is to tell you about the rather fabulous Frank Bars. A few weeks ago I was contacted by the company to ask if I would like to try some of their new bars! Well, how could I say no when we are such big sugar fans?! My daughter was very excited when I told her that there were more things for her to try and she enthusiastically ripped off the wrapping of the double chocolate bar and sunk her teeth in. These bars, although dense, chewy, chocolately and delicious, are actually pretty healthy too, containing no processed sugars and even protein and probiotics! My daughter’s favourites were the double chocolate and chocolate and orange flavours. She wasn’t so keen on the chocolate and strawberry one although I thought it was equally delicious.
The only down-side is that they contain gluten-free oats, which don’t seem to agree with my daughter in anything other than small quantities. The odd bar would be fine but I suspect that she would want them all the time!
At the moment it seems that the only place to buy them is from their website where a pack of 20 will cost you £17, which I think is pretty reasonable given the quality of ingredients. However, I can’t see it being long before these are picked up by the large supermarkets…they would appeal to anyone on any diet, of any age!
Oh, and if you are an Everton supporter then you really need to get on to these as it is ex-Everton player Neil Robinson who founded the company!!
