The kids are watching Peppa Pig and I have a sneaky 5 minutes to update you all on the lovely Book Rest Cafe in Exmouth.
We found this wonderful place a few years ago when my daughter was diagnosed with coeliac disease and it never fails to delight!
A trip to buy school shoes last week was the perfect excuse for another visit.
Having been to 3 different Clarkes shops in 3 different towns to get the ‘favourite shoes’ I was getting rather fed up.
After finally buying said ‘favourite shoes,’ a piece of cake and a good coffee was what the doctor ordered.
The Book Rest Cafe stocks Kays Cakes which are truly wonderful.
They also informed me that they did a variety of gluten-free meals including sandwiches.
They were very reassuring about minimising cross contamination and I now can’t wait to find an excuse to head back and try more.
My daughter is always very happy to go there because there is a child’s area with loads of books and toys.
It is sectioned off from the rest of the cafe allowing you to enjoy your coffee safe in the knowledge that your kids can’t ‘escape’ without you!
The kids have started to shout. I am dreaming about a good coffee and cake…but I have to get back to reality and make breakfast for some grumpy children!
