I know if you are reading my blog that you are likely to feel the same about this issue as me…
On the whole I understand why freefrom food is more expensive than ‘normal’ food…the market is smaller, the cost of ingredients generally higher (although not always!)…but then how is it that Lidl this week have managed to gather a whole load of gluten-free products together and charge half or less than the main supermarkets and online outlets?
Something fishy is going on and I would love to know what!
Based on the prices that Lidl are selling things for this week, Kelkin must either be taking a huge hit or Lidl are loosing out…or we are just normally being seriously ripped off! If anyone has any idea then please let me know.
Anyway, needless to say I think I could set up a gluten-free shop at the moment. We have boxes and boxes of buckwheat flakes stashed around the house (Roo’s favourite that also happen to be one of the few cereals that don’t have rice in them) and a very happy child having finally been ‘allowed’ to try tea cakes for the first time. At £1.50 a box I am happy to buy them…at £3.50 a box I certainly am not!!!
If you haven’t yet stocked up on items then the offer runs until Thursday so get there quick!
