The easiest and tastiest recipe for gluten free cheese scones, using just 5 ingredients. Ready in less than 30 minutes.
Switch the oven on to 220 degrees C (200 degree fan). Put a large baking tray into the oven to warm up
Place the dry ingredients into a food processor and mix until well combined. If you don't have a food processor put the dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl
Cut the cheese into small cubes and add that to the dry ingredients. Process until you have a breadcrumb like texture. If you don't have a food processor finely grate the cheese and add it to the dry mix.
Add the milk and lemon juice and process again until the mixture starts to come together into a dough. If doing by hand combine all the ingredients by hand. This will warm the cheese and allow the dough to come together
Empty the dough from the food processor onto a clean floured work surface and knead into a smooth dough
Form into a large circle approx. 4-5cm thick
Using a 5cm diameter smooth edged cutter cut out your scones
Reform the dough and continue to cut out the scones until all the mixture is used up
Remove the hot baking tray from the oven and place the scones onto it
Bake in the pre heated oven for 15 minutes until risen slightly and golden
